Aerial Tramways are a common sight in alpine areas of Europe. Canada has vast alpine areas but few aerial Tramways.
Construction of the Jasper Tramway began in 1963 and finished in time for the opening of the 1964 summer season. The project was supervised by the the German firm P.H.B. with the key components imported from Germany.
